sage baby co.

Role: Freelance

Sage Baby Co. came to me as a concept — two founders with a strong product vision rooted in Ayurvedic tradition ready to bring it to life. I built the brand from the ground up: strategy and positioning, full identity system, custom botanical illustrations, packaging across three SKUs, e-commerce site, Amazon storefront and A+ content, and print collateral including a proprietary baby massage guide.

What I CREATED

  • Brand Strategy & Positioning — the Ayurvedic angle needed translation; ancient wisdom is a hard sell to a sleep-deprived parent at 2am, so the messaging had to feel accessible without losing the credibility the founders built their products around

  • Custom Botanical Illustration System — rather than sourcing generic florals, I drew the illustration system from the actual ingredients in each product, so the visuals carry meaning even before the copy does

  • Logo Suite — built around the illustration system so every lockup, from the full seal to the smallest lettermark, reads as part of the same handcrafted world

  • Product Seals — each SKU needed its own identity on shelf while still reading as a family; color and botanical motif do that work without needing words

  • Packaging — CPG for babies is a trust purchase; every material and format decision was made to feel considered and premium without tipping into clinical

  • Brand Guidelines — with custom illustration and a complex color system across SKUs, documentation wasn't optional — it was the only way to keep the brand intact as it scaled to vendors and manufacturers

  • E-commerce Website — parents buying natural remedies need education before they need a checkout button; the site architecture reflects that

  • Amazon A+ Content — the default Amazon aesthetic actively works against a brand like this; the A+ content was designed to carve out enough visual space to tell the brand story before a competitor's listing pulls them away

  • Sage Guide to Baby Massage — a product that doubles as a brand artifact; the PDF makes it accessible, the laminated card set makes it something worth keeping

  • Influencer Welcome Pamphlet — the first physical touchpoint for people who've never heard of the brand; had to earn trust and communicate the full brand world before they even opened the box
